Mesanu Hintalo at the Gonai Daero well in Mesamu village, Tigray. The well provides clean water for 270 villagers. Rehabilitation of the well after conflict, was funded by WellWishers and completed early 2024. We funded 66 such wells in 2023. You can see the well on Google maps at (13.25592, 39.44896).1985: Graham Romanes spent the night in a home in remote village in the highlands of Tigray. At 2.30am he heard women leaving down the mountainside with their pots to collect water. Later that morning they returned carrying the 20kg pots full of water from the stream in the valley below. Falls and broken bodies were frequent and occasional deaths.
